Spring Awakening is a high-energy, poignant, soul-stirring rock musical that first took Broadway by storm in 2007 before reaching into hearts worldwide with its universal tale of growing up, seeking the truth, overcoming loss and learning to accept life at its most painful and most exhilarating.

Set in Provincial Germany in 1891, Spring Awakening tells the story of Melchior Gabor, an exceptionally bright adolescent who finds himself trapped in the space between youth and adulthood - and Wendla Bergman, a young woman burdened by her mother's failure to answer her most burning question: how is it a woman conceives a child? As the parents and authorities in town fail to prepare their children for imminent changes, the children are left alone to cope with the loss of innocence, the pain of puberty, the heartbreak of knowledge; the longing, bliss, sadness and rage of their teenage years. Melchior, Wendla, and a young ensemble of characters face tragedy, spark rebellion, and search for hope.

On July 22nd & 23rd, Hass and Swanton & Act of Faith Productions invite you to join us for an immersive benefit production of the hit musical at Saint David's Episcopal Church of Aurora, IL! Proceeds will benefit the development of our new musical mockumentary series, Act of Faith.
